Bluegrass Classic

The past few weekends we've been super busy! Luckily this weekend we weren't too far from home at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park for The Bluegrass Classic dog show. Normally this show falls on Labor Day but the way the dates feel this year, it was a week earlier.

Last year we earned our Rally Novice(RN) title at the show, but I decided to give Dobby a break from showing  and didn't enter him in any obedience classes. On Saturday of the show we showcased with our Drill Team like we have for the past four years.
This years theme-Grease! All the fun of the movie, complete with the catchy songs, crazy dance moves, poodle skirts and flashy makeup.  I'm a HUGE Grease fan, and I begged and begged our team to use the music and wear poodle skirts. The results are what you see in the photo below! Hopefully one of our families will have video uploaded that I can share of the performance.
Following our performance, some of friends were brave enough to try out the sport of dock diving. In this sport, dogs are judged on the length of their jump into a body of water. To qualify the dog has to jump a certain distance that gets increasingly longer as you progress through the levels.
Kirby was ready to in the water!

Claire ended up in the water before he would get in!

If you're ever in the area around the end of August, be sure to come check out the show, especially on Saturday!
