A to Z: Y is for Youngsters

Today's letter is Y meaning we're only one day away from the end of the A to Z Blogging Challenge!
Being a young one in the dog community has world of opportunities. They're called juniors or junior handlers. Juniors are able to compete with their dogs in many of the same classes that adults are allowed to. Some organizations offer entry fee breaks for juniors as well.
In AKC obedience I competed in the regular obedience ring
Our local NADAC club offers runs for juniors at five dollars a run. Juniors in NADAC can earn the same titles as regular competitors but the awards have a JH attached to the end. Dobby and I have earned the Novice Agility Certificate JH or NAC-JH.
4H gives juniors without purebreds the ability to compete in rally, obedience, agility and showmanship. Juniors with purebreds have the opportunity to participate in junior showmanship at AKC shows which is a class judged on the merit of the handler not necessarily the dog.

Did you show as a junior or do you have your own junior handler in the family?
