Mardi Gras Party at the Barkery

On Saturday we attended another wonderful party put on by the Bluegrass Barkery. With Mardi Gras right around the corner it was the perfect time to celebrate and what better way than with friends!
Ms. Lucy joined us for the party dressed as a Mardi Gras Princess.
We started off the festivities with King Cake, of course!
They had made a version just for the dogs and decorated it to look just like the people cake. And the pups loved it!
Then the people had their turn. The Barkery ordered a bunch of King Cakes all the way from New Orleans for the people to enjoy. They were delicious! We tried the traditional, strawberry filling, praline filling and cream cheese filling.
(I was too busy enjoying the cakes that I forgot to take a picture but here's one of the boxes the Barkery took!)
Look who found a baby in her piece! Right after I found mine, Laura found one too and we both got a bag of dental chews for the pups to enjoy.
Lucy was happy about that.
Dobby, on the other hand, was ready for the parade to start so he could strut his stuff!

First we had to take some cute pictures with the props they had set up. Then they announced the winners of the Mardi Paws Court. All of the votes were one dollar with the proceeds benefiting local animal charities. Afterwards the court led the parade and Dobby won one of the fabulous best dressed prizes, getting to show off a few tricks in the process.
Happy Mardi Gras everyone!
